Rich, how big are you ?
That’s some hight on that seat.

BTW, I think you could do with a new un, the upholstery on that is worn.

Nice dropper. I would like to see a pic it in the fully down position please, just to see what happens to the loop of cable.

The Rug is looking a little tired too, cool pic though as I really had to look hard to see the clamp of the stand. Looks like it’s floting

Would be good to hear your long term report on reliability and some pic updates, with the new saddle. 🙂

This looks just what I’m after. Does anyone in the trade know when they’ll be available at ideally vaguely affordable prices?

Well I like your saddle. Agreed the rug needs to go!

Interested on how you get on as well.

End of the actuation cable looks mighty exposed, is there a boot or something missing?

    as is.

based on my winning strategy of hard riding and lazy maintenance, I’ll find out if it affected by mud.

shimano make a great end cap for this kind of thing

I moved to Australia where it’s mostly dusty to solve the mud ingress issue.

soggy out there at the minute. Whats it like when the cable drops? Still put off posts with top entry cables for FS frames.

    it’s always soggy in Tassie.

it’s run through the vacated front mech stops. works a treat.

it’s not like it needs delicate indexing and modulation.

it’s more from seeing the loop buzzed by back wheels on Reverbs on FS bikes, seen a few getting kinked that way.

Bigrich, where did you get it from? My brother has a Titus Motolight full susser with a 27.2 post and is looking for something other than a Gravitydroper..

Edit: just re read your posts and found my answer.

    2 things…

    1. white cable outers?
    2. have you drilled extra holes in the downtube? (first picture)

Yes, my Gravity Dropper classic has been so awful, working almost infallibly for years in often hideously muddy conditions. Other GD owners complain of the same problem of excessive reliability compared to more fashionable/prettier dropper posts…

We’ll mine has been shit. Self serviced and paid for service twice. Sticks up or sticks down after a few rides. Bought after everybody say they were bomb proof.
Ordered my Thomson in March so hopefully get it this week.

Sounds like your seat clamp may be too tight, spring needs greasing and preload needs increasing. There isn’t a lot to go wrong in them!
