What difference will fitting a 24″ rear wheel make compared with a 26″ version with similar tyres etc?
    Wheelbase – 1072mm
Thinking around a degree of the head angle, and maybe 1/2″ off the BB height?
If anyone wants to work out the approximate change in reach as well…
Thinking of trying 24″ on the rear of an Evil Sov frame, I know when it was released it was sold as being able to run either, and thinking back to my old frame two of the reasons for changing it were the BB height and the head angle.

Yeah I know it’s not the late nineties, I’ve been there as well but with massive tyres.

It’ll make it ride badly, mess your gearing up and increase pedal strikes too.
    Sorry.

It’ll drop the rear axle by an inch, drop the BB about 2/3″, and slacken the angles by over a degree. Reach will shorten by only about 1/8″.

Thanks Chief. Think the BB on my old sov was 13.5″ so 3/4″ off would be reasonable, as would a degree off the head angle. If I can find a S/H frame then I reckon it’s worth a try.
