I have some DT 470 29er rims that I would like to run road tyres on.

    The rims are 23.8mm wide.

Will a 23mm tyre be too narrow?

Is that external or internal? 23c tyres ride beautifully on 23mm external width rims, can’t have thought .8mm would make much difference.

You can buy 35mm wide road tyres, which I’ve done on my Trek 29er….my rims are roughly 25 mm so could be 23.8 as well.

Stretched mtb tyres, the new niche?

I’m off to buy a fatbike and fit roadbike tyres!

I have a set of those rims. 25s go on ok.
