  • 2011 Heckler – 130mm forks?

As I type, my new Heckler frame is speeding its way to me and should be here next week. I plan to swap everything from my Blur onto the Heckler – including my Magura Lauren 130 forks.

Will the 130s suffice or should I really look for a set of 140 Revelations to do the frame justice?

And will my chain be ok too? I was wondering if the move from VPP will affect the chain length?

    Thanks

    160mm is where it’s at…

    🙂

But yeah, 130 would be fine…

i wouldn’t buy new forks for an extra 10mm but as above i would for an extra 30mm

As for chain length you’ll have to check

160mm Van 36’s here, but I’m sure it will be ok.

I,m not sure a set of 130’s will do the Heckler much justice at all ?
I would certainly be looking at the something with a fair ammount of travel = 160mm

As for the chain, if its come off a Blur i’d say it was OK ? depending on age and condition and its relative wear to the rest of the drivetrain !

The Heckler isnt VPP though its a single pivot pretty much like the Blur its replacing.

Why not try them and see?

I have xc’d my 03 Heckler by running 130 Revs. Works great.

Tried winding my pikes down to 130 at the weekend – it’s doable, but not great… And mine’s the older model. Save up for 160mm forks – maybe Lyriks 🙂
