Up for sale is my 2011 Fox 36 Float RLC with the ‘genuine Kashmere coated’ stanchions. The steerer is 1 1/8th inch all the way through, is cut to 210mm and has a star spangled nut fitted.
I have had these for about 15 months or so. They’ve been on and off the bike in that time as I’ve tried various forks in an attempt to keep the overall weight of the bike down. They have been well looked after, serviced regular (every 4 months or so with them being ridden about twice a week on average).
I have reconditioned them for sale, which is to say I have cleaned them thoroughly, had them serviced and applied new graphics (hence why the graphics don’t look like the stock 2011 ones). At this time the forks are set to 140mm travel, but this is very easy to change and I can do that for you if you want. I will supply the forks with the spacers that allow you to alter the travel.
Please rest assured that these are genuine aftermarket forks and not OEM models. A lot of places are selling OEM Fox 36 forks cheap, but these often have different internals and the OEM models don’t have the Kashima coating.
My forks are the RLC variant of the Float. This means they have rebound adjust on the bottom of one leg and then Low Speed Compression control at the top of the same leg, plus they have a lockout that works with an adjustable blow off threshold. This means you can set the fork to be very stiff (more or less locked out) and with the right bump input, the lockout will release and the fork will work as normal. It’s a good system, although I’ve personally not used it as the low speed compression range is enough to stabilise the fork.
The condition is as follows:
Lowers are about 8.5/10 – there are some small scuffs in the paint work, illustrated in the pictures. Graphics are brand new hence they are 10/10
Crown is about 8/10 – there are the usual scuff and cable rub marks
Stanchions are 8.5/10 – save for one small nick very near the end of the travel the stanchions would be perfect. I’ve taken a macro shot of this nick in order to really show it clearly and this makes it look bigger than it really is, but it does clearly show it. In reality, it’s pretty small, maybe 0.5mm across. But it is definitely there and you can feel a slight bur on it. My local bike shop have said that they wouldn’t worry about it given how small it is and that it’s so close to the end of the travel. You’re rarely going to have it go past the seal. It would be easy to get it smoothed off and filled.
Price is £400 posted and they will be boxed and include a Fox shock pump and the spacers to adjust travel. Mail is in profile or text/call on 07966 585 892
