Not my bike but does anyone know the bearing sizes?
In particular the chainstay pivot horst link ones, are they bearings or bushes?
    How easy/difficult to replace?

Not easy to replace, particularly the ones in the horst link above the drop out. There’s a lip in the frame between the bearings so you can’t just push them out. Ideally you need a bearing puller kit. I bought one earlier this year but haven’t yet gotten around to replacing the bearings yet.

I did it earlier this year. Pretty straightforward, I knocked the horst link one one carefully with a screwdriver and pushed the new ones in with a socket and a vice. Took me about half an hour to get them all out, and about 20mins to get them all back in again (That’s all 12).

actually uplink I have some of his bearings in my Commencal meta
Still going strong after 6 months so no issues there (other than he used to be a bit of an arse with his bearing threads but he seems to have stopped all that now)

Hey, I read this thread this morning but I thought you had bearings for the frame, If you want to buy top end bearings I can sell you some, if you want to test some of my range of bearings, just send me an email. They will last a long time and you can have some for free.

As for the Commencal Meta bearings that I gave you for free to test, you might as well forget about them, it will be another 3 to 4 years before those go.

As for my bearing threads, STW likes arguing and lynch mobs, I was simply giving them what they wanted 😀

Bounce over an email and I’ll sort you out with some bearings and an installtion guide and tools to work with a vice.

If you are using a vice also use the old bearings to press the new ones in, since they are the exact same size it makes it very difficult to damage the bearings.

Hope everyone reading this is OK and that you have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New year.

    Kael.

    Kael,
Thanks but no worries, its not my bike
Brother in law is in process of buying it from a mate but it needs the Horst link bearing replacing, I was initially just wondering on sizes to advise him but I sorted it
Given BiL works for a supplier / contractor to a rather large aeroplane engine manufacturing company he has ample machinery and bearings available to him
I will however point him towards your ebay site if he needs anything

without wanting this thread, the original question of which is now sorted, to turn into another great STW bearings thread I’ll just state that I was very happy with the ones I replaced earlier this year (for free so thanks for that), they are still going strong and leave it at that
