    That don’t weigh the earth..
    What’s good?
I’ve a terra nova laser comp1, spotty dog for an overnighter but not as a weekend base..
Will also use it for backpacking with the wife, hence the weight issue..

    As always, budget?

I’d be looking at the Tarptent range.

You can usually find deals on Wild Country tents, as TN’s cheaper sister.

Blatant plug time. Be looking to sell my Wild Country tent soon, Zephyros 2 XL Lite, 2 years(ish) old. Only used a handful of times.

Got a wild contry hoolie 2 for similar use.

Rate the space and ease of putting up. The poles are fragile though due to being light and alloy. Had 2 of mines replaced already and its only a year old)0( well used though) …… None of my other tents have been this fragile and ive lived in tents for months at a time pitching and striking daily.

Zpacks Duplex if you want super light and easy pitch.
Bit more expensive than they were before June 2016 though.

Exped tents are good but expensive. Think near Hillendat prices.

MSR Hubba Hubba is a good shout for light weight. My only gripe with it is can’t pitch inner & outer together but it’s light, spacious and strong.

My mates got a MSR Hubba Hubba that we used for our GR5/alps bikepacking trip – fantastic tent with loads of room to sit up yep bloody light and packs up small!

EDIT:Beaten to it by a minute!

I think we’ve all got used used to 1kg Uber light tents – realistically 2and a bit kg is more typical of spacious but portable tents.

Fwiw, the best balancing act of space and weight I have seen is an MSR Mutha Hubba. Not cheap though, especially in carbon flavour.
Closely followed by some of the Roben’s tents – similar design to the MSR.

I’m looking at the Alpkit Ordos. It is very lightweight anyway (claims 1.3kg).

Maybe worth getting a 3-person tent if you want something more spacious for 2 people.
