2 day tour of Skye

Evening, I have it in my head that I need to do Skye. For reasons I don’t need to go into, it’ll be on a tourer not MTB. That’s for another time.

I was planning on camping with car overnight near Kyle of lochalsh. Day one riding to Uig via the western coast and stay at the youth hostel. Does anyone know if it will be open in late May? I believe it was for sale. Day two to head back south via the Trotternish peninsula and Staffin.

Anyone got any recommendations for the route, interesting diversions or advice?

Take in the Quiraing. Partake of an Ostrich burger at the top.

Love Skye barren and beautiful at the same time.

use the ferry if it’s open

you might see an otter at hide just N of ferry (we did v early am, got there before dawn)

watch a waterfall whilst eating a sarnie (*no facilities) at Talisker point

just slightly further up brochs rd (to W) was an old gypsy caravan on a small holding being used as a tea room. (2013)
