I had to admit to judging the trailers for the first series with total scorn, and then pissing myself laughing pretty much all the way through it.
No big bang theory though.
I hate pretty much all US sitcoms but 2 broke girls and Big Bang Theory have me in stitches. I never thought I’d see the day I’d enjoy shows like that 😆
Kat Dennings is a force of nature with more front than Harrods.
One thing about this show though…
Comedy black guy (a bit fly, ladies man), comedy Korean guy (short, sexually inexperienced), comedy Ukrainian guy (smelly, bit of a pervert), comedy generic East European woman (no dress sense, possibly an ex-hooker)…not quite sure how they get away with it.
All yours if you like – bash on lads, i’ll stick to Claire Danes fae homeland….note : i did not mean “stick” as in jazz mag stick(y)….Aww ****….I’ll get my coat…….->
The thing is once upon a time there was LOTS of UK TV output to rival and beat hands down any US dribble. Its been getting less and less (UK output) and some of the UK stand up shows are lamentable.
The US’s dribble has started to become watchable due to the UK’s standards dropping IMO.
I doubt we’ll see another gang of writers coming up with another League of Gentleman or Phoenix Nights to watch.
Weird, Peter Kays stand up is horrific as was his spin off safetyman sketch/series thing. Phoenix Nights was an absolute gem though. Soooo captures the northern clubland/bleakness.
