    Hello all,

I’ve set my lad up with a 1×10 using a SRAM X5 rear mech, and it’s proving rather reluctant to come off the extender back into second. The only way to get it to shift is to go to second or third and then really stomp it, which is fine if it’s me trying it, but he’s only ten, so struggles a bit!

I’m reluctant to really do much fiddling with it, as across the whole of the rest of the cassette, it’s the smoothest shifting bike I’ve ever ridden! 😀

I was hoping someone on here might be able to suggest a cure for this issue that won’t mess with the shifting across the rest of the range?

    No,I haven’t. Which way would I turn it? 🙂

clockwise, so it pulls the mech/top jockey down and away from the sprockets, to give more clearance.

Great, thanks. I’ll try in the morning.

Is your chain too short? How does it look when in first?
