Just converted my hardtail to 1×10 and it’s not quite right.

I have set the mech up and I think it’s right, shifts into all gears, but it’s a little noisy in the top cog (40T).

I have put a one up RAD cage on and the b-tension looks ok.

Chainring is on the middle of a triple crank. Is it wise to move a spacer to the non drive side to correct chainline?

That,or 2mm spacers between the ring and the crank arms.

Think it pretty much solved it, still not quite perfect, but a little bit more limit screw helped as well.

Unfortunately it’s ****ing it down now, so might be weekend before it gets a real run out.

I used some chainring spacers to sort my chainline. Measured hub centre to cassette centre and did as close as I could to the same on the chainring. Runs smooth and only one chain drop in 1500 miles (stick trapped between ring and chain).

Sorry to change the direction but what do you do if you go for the Absolute black 64pcd chain rings which fit in the inner triple crank position? Surely this must give a very distorted chain line.
