My on going quest for the ultimate do everything bike is continuing.
Still looking at a ti hardtail for my every need and a 120mm fork seems to work best with what I am considering.
Anyone race xc at a good level with a 120mm fork?
Usually race with a 100mm fork so I could keep that as a option to try out.
    Any advantage/disadvantage?
Don’t want to be going any slower!
    Thanks,
    Max

It will make very little difference. On the steeper climbs it will wander a bit more perhaps and maybe a bit more bouncy without a lockout turned on.

    What’s a good level?

You might do well, win or come last, doubt 20mm extra fork travel will affect that.

I think Nino Schurter runs 120 mm for more technical courses, he’s one of he few guys that runs full suss and 27.5″ wheels.

    Thanks guys,
Not breaking records and just doing the Fnss series races (did get 3 top ten places last year)
Maybe thinking too much into it!
My mate is trying to persuade me to do some Midlands XC races though!
    Thanks again,

I finished 5th overall in the FNSS last year, racing a HT with a 120mm fork. And 27.5 wheels if that makes any difference.
