Anyone know where I can get a spacer made, or can give me an idea how to make it work properly?

    Cheers

Im going to use a square nut, file/sand it down to 7mm, then cut a 1mm groove for the cable. Also drill out the threads.

I made my own… I used my mill because it’d be daft not to but you could do it with hand tools, all it really is, is a cuboid with a hole and a slot.

Or you can just use a stack of washers, but that’s a wee bit fiddly.

That would make it worse? Were talking of making a 9 speed system work with a clutched mech.

At the point when I can get the 10sp cassette, shifter and chain then ill do that but I’m trying to take it easy on cash right now. I have a 9sp SRAM shifter already – if I get one of the new works components / wolf tooth chain rings then I can take a step toward 1×10 without having to get a chain device (I’ve never seen one I liked) and the idea of a clutch mech / bash guard and ‘proper’ chainring sounds good

The 7mm square nut and a 1mm channel sounds right. Cheers Rob!!
