It has probably been asked before but here goes.

I have a 9 speed XT chainset and I am wanting to upgrade to 10 speed. Can I use the 9 speed chainset/rings with a 10 speed chain?

I have shifters, cassette, rear mech and chain.

    Cheers all

yes you can as the internal width between the links of the chain are the same.

If you only want 1×10 I wholly recommend getting a n/w chainring and clutch mech with new chain. Works great and silences the bike, its just a great idea.

    Cheers chaps!

The chain fitted the chain ring OK but just needed the collective to confirm.

Just need to work out what colour to paint the soul now.

    Any ideas?

There’s usually lots of people selling new triple rings on the classifieds for about £40. Worth it for a new chain and cassette IMO
