On the rear I want to spin up the hills so I’m looking around, I like the idea of one up components, with the modified cage and 42T sprocket. http://int.oneupcomponents.com/
I know its quite a few £ but it looks good. What do you guys recommend ?

I thought living in the High Peak I’d need a big rear sprocket on my SC but to be honest the 36t on my XT cassette is more than enough, so much so that I’ve not really used it at all so I think bigger would be a waste. I have only got a 32t up front though so that might make the difference, if you’ve got a 34t it might be worth it though I’d probably say 40t is enough.

I’d recommend just trying 36-11 and seeing if you need the extra sprocket.

I manage in the lakes with 32t up front and 36-11 cassette on a 26″ wheel.

I’d try it without the 42 and see how it goes…

I think I cocked my ratios up and put a 42 with a 30 up front and I don’t really like it, but it shifts lovely with the rad cage.

I’m a masher more than a spinner at heart but my knees remind me the next day that I should spin more.
