Honestly, it’s not an attempt to get people to sell me a crankset (but it can’t hurt)

Am I right in thinking shimano double and triple chainsets have different bcd? My google skills are failing me at the moment and I can’t seem to work out the difference

    Can anyone help

    Thanks

The BCD’s are the same. The chainline is slightly different when comparing the middle position on a triple and the outer position on the double, however not significant enough to feel a difference when riding. Both will work fine as 1*10.

The “close ratio” triples (Deore M612 M622 , SLX M672 and the XT M782) have a BCD of 96

And the XTR M985 Race double is 88mm. Otherwise yes
