&#60;p&#62;Indeed. If you look closely you can see the shark welling up because Quint was willing to sacrifice himself in order to replenish all the calories he'd* burnt chasing them around the ocean and Shaw tries to tell him* this but it's lost in his last bloody-mouthed gurgle.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;*Not sure if the shark is a male or female but I'll roll with male because the shark had a certain panache when it came to killing.
