I've finally got round to having a bit of a clearout. All prices negotiable, discounts for multiple purchases and collection. Based in beds, can deliver to Woburn, Chicksands, Central London.

Pictures here: Clicky

Kona Coiler Deluxe frame 2006 (S): £200 posted
Used, but loved. Some cable rub and stone chips. No rear end play. DHX 4.0 shock, FSA Pig headset and IRD inline post included.

On One Scandal frame (14"): £150 posted
Bought for my wife to see if an xc hardtail was for her. Apparently not. Lived most of its life in a turbo trainer, some very slight scratches on the underside of the down tube, otherwise as new.

Santa Cruz Heckler frame 2006 (S): £300 posted
Very well used, far from cosmetically perfect, but structually sound. Powder coating is bubbling and flaking in places, but no cracks, or serious damage. Mech hanger isn't completely straight, but didn't cause an issue with shifting. Only selling due to shiny new replacement.

24Seven DH/FR 135x12mm Rear, 20mm Front: £60 posted
Bought as seconds as 24Seven weren't happy with the quality of the powdercoating. 2 years on and they're still flipping bright.

Sun Singletrack Rims on Deore rear, Kona 20mm front: £60 posted
Bearings are all good, few minor scratches from tyre fitting, all stickers removed. Solid pair of wheels.

WTB Laserdisc XC Rims on Deore QR, 6 bolt hubs: £70 posted
These have mainly been used in a rim driven turbo trainer, hence the wear to the sticker shown in the photo. Straight and true, light pair of wheels. Currently fitted with Nevegals/Blue Grooves, which can be included for extra.

RockShox Recon 335 UTurn QR: £120 posted
Marks to the lowers from being on a bike rack, but stanchions are perfect. Lockout, but NOT poplock. Soft spring fitted, can include a medium for extra. Recently serviced by TFT.

Manitou Nixon Super Plus SPV Evolve 2005: £90 posted
145mm travel, air sprung, some scratches on the lowers and a bit of cable rub on the crown, but the stanchions are perfect. Steerer 200+ mm.

Marzocchi Z1 SL: £50 posted
Spares or repairs: play in bushes, rebound adjuster missing. Stanchions are perfect though. Steerer 185mm

Fox Vanilla R ProPedal 200x50: £30 posted
From a 2004 Kona Stinky, with a 450 spring.

Assorted Marzocchi Springs: £10 posted
Theres some medium weight springs for the Z1 MCR's above, plus a whole bunch of others. I think there's a medium set for some Jr T's, but don't quote me on that.

RockShox 130mm UTurn Spring, Medium: £25posted
To fit the Recon's above.

661 Pressure Suit BNWT (S): £30 posted
Never worn, never used.

Dainese Back Protector (Boys M): £30 posted
Worn once, as good as new.

Eurohike Trek SI compact self inflating mat: £10 posted
Its blue.

Berghaus Bioflex c7 2 series 70+10: £80 posted
Used once in anger, and has sat in the loft ever since.

Dainese Two Piece Leathers (EU 42): £150 posted
Only worn a handful of times.

Richa 3 in 1 Motorcycle Jacket (S): £50 posted
Separate waterproof and thermal liners, mesh panels in the main jacket make this the last motorcycle jacket you'll ever need.

Dainese Goretex Motorbike Jacket (40): £120 posted
Worn twice, never wet, is as good as new. Removable liner & armour.

Dianese Leather Gloves (Womens Small): £90 posted
Worn once I believe. Well, they're still white!

Sidi Boots (EU 37): £40 posted
Used but plenty of life left in them. Some scuffs, see photos.

it took so long as the quality of bamboo seems to vary SOOOOOO much across different suppliers. some stuff from the states went baggy after one wash. the ones we have settled on feel almost identical to merino and are great for riding/chilling/looking pimp

I'm reet tall like, and my bars are markedly lower than my saddle when it's at ideal pedalling position. If they were the same height I'd be doing the shopping. IMO long arms work great with short, low bikes as you get reach in a different way which gives much better ability to work as suspension and more weight on the front wheel. Stretching forward instead of down would ruin the sort of handling that I happen to like.

On the road I have a longer reach but still low bars because I'm not going shopping then either. The bars on the toured were higher, though, nearly level with the saddle.

There seem to be lots of ideas and theories around ride positioning. If you're a racer or competitive athlete looking for optimum performance/efficiency there might be something in them. As a general pootler about I tend to go with comfort and what feels right. My bars are currently a couple of inches lower than my saddle (I'm 6') and that feels fine. Saddle heightwise, I like a slight bend in the knee (I've heard 20 degrees mentioned) at the bottom of the stroke with my foot level (this tends to equate to another 'rule of thumb' which gives me a straight leg with my heel on the pedal at full extension). This feels comfy and gives a little bit of natural lift out of the saddle when I'm cranking hard with a flexed ankle. If my saddle's too high, irrespective of anything else, I get pains in my sit-bones. Saddle fore and aft and angle positioning can make a lot of difference to comfort too.

Your height is not much of a gauge though - You can be the same height but have long or short arms and/or legs - this affects your riding position a lot.

Exactly. That's why IMO if you get the saddle height and forward/back position correct for best pedalling you can work out what fits from there, depending on personal preference.

And the point about the 107%. When you're cycling you have the balls of your feet on the pedal, so you gain the extra length and power from flexing the ankle.

I thought alot of it was frame geometry and design too

Quite possibly. I think seat angle has a big effect on what works.

My knees complain if my saddles too low, so I generaly have my hip's rocking slightly.

Bars http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/should-a-saddle-be-inline-with-the-height-of-the-bars-tall-person-thingarround the same place on all my bikes, no spacers, short minimal rise stem, flat wide bars on the 456 (130mm forks), low risers and lighly taller stem on the Sanderson (100mm forks). The exception being the 456 in uplift/DH mode, bigger forks, same bar/stem to take smoe pressure off my hands.
