I am not really looking forward to it though as from what I can tell it's a bit of a savage attack on selected parts of religion. The book may have a use as a weapon against ignorance, but I feel it's never going to be read by anyone religious as it's too easily dismissed. In these kind of arguments, you don't win anyone over by attacking them ruthlessly over something that's really personal.</em></p> <p>It's not a personal attack, it's just a reasoned debate on the topic of religion, yes it concentrates mostly on Christianity but applies to most religion, it's also got some fascinating insights into the human psyche, the "need" for religion and various arguments for and against the existance of 'God(s)'<br /> BUT - it's not an easy read, none of Dawkins stuff really is. The only way I could read it was to dip into it in an almost random fashion, for me at least trying to read it cover to cover just didn't work. I've just finished Richard Dawkins book Climbing Mount Improbable which is about evolution and how it happens, again good read but tough going at times. </p>
