Whats more important about Macs is the stuff that you don't notice IMO

My Mac has never crashed, I don't get error messages, and I don't need a virus checker. Whenever I install a new piece of software, it doesn't bury parts of itself so far into the OS that you can never get rid of it. You don't need drivers, codecs, service-pack upgrades and all that stuff.... it just works without me having to understand/care how.

Horses for courses though - not everybody's cup of tea

Thats my point, I would argue forefoot (by this I mean anything from approximately midfoot forward) is natural and heel striking has to be learned.

I think I'd find forefoot strike very difficult in a pair of my old ultra cushioned asics just as heel striking in my trailgloves would feel very wrong. Perhaps things were a little different for me having done a lot of my early running in boots.

So going to be a dad soon and the wife is reading all kinds of books and has mumsnet. So obliviously singletrack=dadsnet will be my main source of information about parenting but can anyone suggest any books that are good to read from a dads perspective. Preferable something I can download onto a kindle. I know you cannot get everything from a book but it might be nice to get a heads up on a few things!

I just found the mail application - now thats neat. Just enter my (hotmail) email address and password and it acts as a mail client for hotmail in seconds. Used to faff with hotmail's and MS's own clients and got fed up years ago. This is neat.

A fundamental change in form like forefoot strike takes a quite a lot of effort, I don't believe it'll just happen naturally as you get quicker (it didn't for me).

Thats my point, I would argue forefoot (by this I mean anything from approximately midfoot forward) is natural and heel striking has to be learned.

Psychovertical is very good. Andy KP's got a new one out called "Cold Wars" which is just as good, if not better. Genuinely laugh out loud funny. I think my guffawing started to get to my other half, who was stuck into something a bit heavier at the time.

"Mountains of the Mind" - very good too.

"La Trace de l'Ange" about mentalist/alpinist/everest snowboardist Marco Sifreddi is brilliant if your French is any good (even if it's not, it's a better way to improve it than exercises about day to day tedium in La Rochelle)

And this thread wouldn't be complete without The Ascent of Rum Doodle.

Too much information! I'm not sure what is more disturbing..... The fact that you think that or the fact that you actually posted it on a forum.

whats disturbing is that you've obviously never received messages from teh ladies informing you that they've been doing it to your photos....

I hate the way PCs slow down so much over time as they amass more and more shit from the web without you even knowing about it. I never know what to delete and what is part of the machine.
My main motivation in buying a mac is that this will not happen. Is I wrong?

i was considering getting mine removed (C30). Im at 73K with no problems....so far. Change interval is 75K

Its my 2nd ever diesel, first with a dpf, they forgot to mention it in the sales pitch.

I know of a garage who will remove it and remap ecu. The independent i use for repairs recommend taking it out and cleaning it first, and advise "giving it some welly regularly". Theres a 3mile average speed section on my way to work, i often do 3rd gear at 50mph in that.
