Trans-Savoie Day Four

Here’s your Trans-Savoie fix for the day.

TS 4 1

The event is more than halfway through now with some riders having clocked up seven hours of pure Alpine racing.

“Ornamental” was the name of the first stage and it was a real steep and techy ride with rocks that’d turn bone to a dry pulp! The quickest riders sped through with those at the back having to carry their bikes down the trail.

TS 4 2

Stage two started with an breathtakingly open singletrack which led into a berm filled blue trail.

TS 4 3

The best was yet to come though as the competitors made their way into stages five and six after some valley shredding in the earlier parts of the day’s racing.

The final trails were deep in the leaf covered forests near Bride-Les-Bains, which, as many guides in the area say, is some of the best riding the world can offer.

TS 4 4

A mix of dirt, loam, roots and rocks added to the technical aspect of this breathtaking ride.

Here’s the leader Nico Lau shredding the foliage.

TS 4 -5

Francois Billy-Maitre held second with Jamie Nicoll cementing his third place position.

For the women, Meggie Bichard continues to lead with Kerstin Kogler and Monica Buchi holding second and third.
