Sharon’s Top Ten for 2015

by 1

After reporting from Eurobike for us this summer, and in between planning an incoming year of bike related adventures we got Sharon to sit down and choose the ten things she most wants to test next year. Here’s what she went for…

 Juliana Roubion

Light and fast
Ready to schralp

I ride a Juliana Furtado and it’s a really great trail bike, but the buzz about its bigger sister the Roubion has got me intrigued and I’d love to see what it’s capable of and just where it’d lead me.

Sweet Protection Bushwhacker

Pimp
Mmmm minty

That minty finish is close enough to go with the Roubion and give plenty of coverage for a good level of protection. It’s a helmet that looks like it’ll offer a decent amount of ventilation too for when the going gets hot.

Scott Contessa Genius 700

bounce
bounce

Weighing in at a claimed 27 pounds and with 150mm travel the Contessa Genius 700 is a bike that should be able to lend its hand to both cross country and more technical terrain riding.  After Jorji loving the men’s Scott Genius LT 700 Tuned I’d be interested to see how this women’s specific version measures up.

Five Ten Freerider

Flat
Flat and sticky

The Freerider is a women’s specific shoe who’s arrival is pencilled in for spring/summer 2015. Which means it should arrive just in time for some alpine adventures.

Rockshox Pike

Pike
Pike

After riding a couple of test bikes fitted with Pikes I’ve been really taken by just how good the suspension works. They’re probably the only thing I’d change on my current bike that would improve it.

Raceface Women’s Kneepads

Protection
Protection

Hard shell protection that’s designed specifically for women. I’ve been searching for a kneepad that fits well and hopefully these will fit the bill.

Trek Lush Carbon 27.5

Lush
Lush, yes.

The Lush looks like a nice and versatile bike that’d be equally at home on a cross country ride as dropping into something a bit more technical. An OCLV carbon frame, 1x 11 drivetrain and stealth dropper equals a pretty sorted bike.

Maloja Goretex Active Laminate jacket and shorts.

look great, stay dry
look great, stay dry

Maloja seem to have good looking kit dialled and the Goretex Active Laminate jacket and shorts should offer plenty of protection when the weather turns. I really like the addition of attachable arms which should make the jacket a little bit more versatile and easier to tune to the current climate.

Gore Element Love Camo jersey

Love camo?

I spotted this at Eurobike and love the understated design. Nice and simple but good looking all the same.

 Alpkit Filoment

Post ride cosiness
Post ride cosiness

A microbaffled down jacket that looks just about perfect for post winter ride cosiness. Where do I sign?

Dutchess of dirt? (The Lush) Dutchess? Either its for riding in the Netherlands or someone needs to check the titles in their titles.
