Eurobike 2014: Women’s Fashion News Part Two

by 4

The second instalment of Sharon’s round up of what’s new in women’s bike wear, featuring Five Ten, Scott, LIV and Race Face…

Five Ten’s New Arrival!
There has been much excitement here for the unveiling of the first women specific Freerider shoes. Two great looks; one in charcoal grey trimmed with suede with a reddy-pink sole, the other in a lighter grey canvas, lined in turquoise.

Designed on a narrower last than the men’s version, they should give better stability to the footbed and the heel; a lower cut out at the ankle is also more suited to the female foot. Word is that they will be ready for general release spring/summer 2015.

Scott’s Trail Woman Range
New for 2015 is the Scott Trail hooded Insulator jacket. A water repellant DRYzone, DWR outer layer with Primaloft quilted lining. Available in three colours, this packs down small enough to be practical for post ride cosiness.

Again with weather protection and packability in mind, here are the Trail Woman Rainshorts. The light DRYOsphere fabric claims waterproofing, windproofing and breathability without bulk. A handy small storage pouch comes with them.

For full-on protection from the elements the Gore-Tex Trail Woman Active Shell caught my eye. The design of the wrist cuff now incorporates an elastic/Velcro combo, which provides improved protection and a neat solution to water seepage in the worst downpour.

Ah nice one Sharon. Some lovely stuff. Scott and Race Face coming up trumps there :0)

Why is Scott clothing so hard to come by? It’s good quality and well designed, those Rainshorts look very interesting and innovative.

To be fair though, women are doing pretty well these days for mtb clothing!
