1990 World Champ (against Thomas and Tim, what a podium!)

Your chance to ask Ned Overend, mountain biking legend, your questions.

Singletrack Magazine is proud to announce that it will be hosting an evening event with legendary mountain bike racer Ned Overend in conjunction with Ned’s long-time sponsor, Specialized.

Ned ‘The Lung’ Overend has been a Specialized ambassador for over 25 years, has his name in the Mountain Biking Hall of Fame, and despite being in his 60s is still riding and representing Specialized at events across the world. And far from slowing down, he is still winning national titles.

The ‘tache is no more, but the lungs are still on top form

What would you like to ask him?

In recognition of Ned’s status as the first ever US Fat Bike Champion (at the age of 59), we’re also giving all attendees a chance to win a fat bike.

The event is free, and will be a night to remember – as well as getting to hear Ned speak, there will be some special heritage bikes for you to get your geek on, t-shirts, beer, chat…what are you waiting for? It’s not often you get a chance to hang out with a mountain bike legend, world champion and all round rock star like Mr Overend.

Whatever happened to four finger brake levers, eh?

To book your place, register here and submit your question for Ned.

Although the evening is completely free, you do need to book your place in advance. No entries on the door will be accepted.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
