Farmer John’s Night Downhill Race and Results

by 0

For northern downhill riders not wanting to stray too far from home (depends where you live – Ed), Farmer John’s is a great place with decent features for a full day of fun.

The track isn’t particularly long nor is it steep, but there is a ton of man-made features which keep a smile permanently slapped across your face after each run.

Over the past weekend, Farmer John’s held its annual downhill race weekend which featured a main event on Sunday with a soapbox race, dual slalom, dirt jump session and night racing all held on Saturday.

We only managed to attend the evening practice and night race, but with such an amazing atmosphere, great tunes, and a huge turnout, we’ll surely be in attendance next time.

Below are some photos from the night race, which was held on a shorter track but still featured jumps, a wall ride and berms into an increasingly dark finish line.

Night race winners included Georgina Mackenzie (Open women), Jack Thorpe (Ripper boys), Logan Wilcox (Juvenile boys), Eli Wright (Youth boys), Anthony Sugden (Junior men), Rhys Turner-Jones (Senior men), Kingsley Mears (Master men) and Thor Atkinson (Veteran men). Full results of the night race are available here, and race results of the main downhill from Sunday are here.

For anyone looking for a downhill event with a nice festival vibe that the whole family can enjoy we would certainly suggest keeping an eye out for future events, and heading to the bike park for a weekend shred.
