RST Sea Otter 201623

RST Elev8 Dropper Post

RST’s entry into the dropper world is ready to launch. It features a cable operated air spring and hydraulic action with infinite adjustment. It’ll come in 30.9 and 31.6mm sizes and will ship with both under-bar thumb lever and an over-bar (press down towards the ground) lever. There’s a pretty simple cable attachment at the base of the post. At 650-700g, it’s a good 150g heavier than a Rockshox Reverb, but we imagine it’s a whole lot cheaper, with US prices aiming at $250 or so.

Snyper Kids’ Fork

And what’s this? A fork for rad kids. The Snyper comes in 24in and features an air spring, a straight or tapered steerer and 32mm stanchions. Features OCR damping and lockout and rebound adjustment. Travel is internally adjustable to 80, 100 or 120mm. Looks rather flash. US price is aimed at $425.

QR forks, they’re still a thing, OK?

RST Renegade

Looking similar, but only because we’re far away, is the RST Renegade fat bike fork. It’ll take a full 5in fat tyre and comes in either a tapered steerer or straight 1 1/8th. It features 32mm stanchions and can be internally adjusted to 80, 100 or 120mm travel. There’s adjustable rebound and low speed compression. It comes in at a hair under 5lbs, or 2.25kg. Price will be around $585.

RST Rebel

The Rebel has been in development for a while (and we saw an under-counter version of it last year). It’s an upside-down enduro fork, comes in around 4.75lbs and will have 120-150mm travel available. It’ll be compatible with 30mm axle endcaps (like RockShox’ RS-1 fork) and the guide price will be US$950.

RST Rogue

The Rogue is an air sprung, 34mm stanchion fork that’ll work with 27.5in or 29in. It It features Boost spacing, or ‘RST 110’ and has some clever new damping that RST has been working on, with low speed compression damping as well as a separate, high speed compression shim stack circuit.

110 – it’s ten better, OK?

RST Alpha

As if things weren’t confusing enough, RST has the Alpha, which is a cheaper, OEM fork. It uses a Boost-spacing hub, but is quick release rather than bolt-thru, if that makes sense. We wouldn’t worry, It’ll either come on a bike you’re buying (with the right wheel) or it won’t.

Mostly an OEM fork, which is good as we’re confused.
