Entries are opening on Saturday for the Enduro2 – a new, lift-assisted, paired enduro race to be held in Les Arcs, a criminally fine alpine mountain biking destination (and not, as a friend of my daughter once asked, where Noah got his boat from). The event runs from Saturday 27th June to Monday 29th June 2015.
The good folk from trailAddiction, who also organise the Trans-Savoie, have put it together – as well they might, having been guiding in the Les Arcs valley for 13 years. Ali from trailAddiction: “Les Arcs is the ideal setting with its efficient lift system, huge 2,000m vertical drop and amazing singletrack from high Alpine down through mature forests to the valley floor.”
He continues: “We’ve wanted to do an event like this for several years, and things have finally fallen into place. The racing in pairs format will bring an extra dimension, and Enduro2 is going to be one of the most fun things you can do on two wheels”.
The event boasts of “a mind-boggling quantity of secret paths and ancient trails” as well as machine built Bike Park terrain, and many in this office can attest to the quality of the riding Les Arcs has on offer. The potential to race with a teammate has lots of potential too. So lift assisted enduro, with a mate, on spectacular Alpine trails? Hell yeah…
The whole thing is sponsored by Stages Cycling alongside Vango, Shimano and Fox Racing Shox.
