This week, we’re introducing: Leisure Lakes Bikes
Tuesday Treats is handing the controls over to Beth Noy and the guys at Leisure Lakes to talk us through what it means to be a successful, family run, bike business and the exciting times ahead for the ‘bike shop’ as we know it…
We are a family run business, opening in 1981 (it’s our 34th birthday this year!) and we continue to offer the very best in bikes, clothing, parts & accessories from the worlds top brands at all of our eight stores and online bike store. We offer FREE UK delivery, worldwide delivery, servicing & repairs, 0% finance, Cycle to Work and operate our special VIP Club. That gives members exclusive offers all year round!
The last 12 months have been an exciting time for us all at Leisure Lakes Bikes; we opened a huge mega-store in Daventry, a brand new store in Newport (South Wales) and hosted our most successful demo weekend yet at Cannock Chase!
What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?
The Hope Tech T-Rex has been selling like crazy because it’s a really affordable way to give a wide gear ratio when running a 10speed, single ring setup. It’s a really great product for the ever-growing enduro market.
On this note, check out our NEW IN section for all the hot-off-the-press products!
Which product/brand does every staff member have on their bike?
Like the rest of the MTB world, all our staff love dropper seatposts. Whether it be a KS, Fox, RockShox or Thompson it’s something that they will recommended over and over again.
What was the last custom build you did?
After seeing a proposed hydrographic frame finish on an Orange Five at ‘The Bike Place’ launch earlier this year, we wanted to see it as a real option for the Five. We asked everyone on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds what they thought and it got a great response!
From this, we have created our own custom build of this special Orange Five with a reverb seatpost, Rockshox Pike forks and SLX brakes as a standard £3,000 package.
Our Preston/Southport store have just finished the first ever Limited Edition Orange Five and upgraded the brakes further, to Hope Tech for a very lucky customer. What do you think?
Tell us something about your shop/staff that no-one knows…
Our business truly is like one big family; because of the close relationships between the owners, managers and staff it means that each of our stores is influenced and run by the staff that work there. You will experience a different flavour of our company in every one of our stores and get a personal experience from staff that are passionate about riding and working for us!
Is there a regular shop ride or forthcoming event you think our readers should know about?
All of our stores run weekly shop rides with different locations each week. We encourage riders of all abilities to join us and hit the trails with like-minded riders so if you want to get involved give your local store a call and find details of the next ride.
The best way to stay in touch is on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the latest products hot off the press, bike porn, exclusive offers and like with the custom Orange Five, help us decide on new product stock!
What about Demo Bikes?
We are backed by some of the top brands in the world and this year saw our biggest demo weekend yet at Cannock Chase. Organised by our Wolverhampton store, the event saw over 600 people testing out the latest bikes and kit over the two day event. If you missed out this year don’t worry we are planning a stonker of a demo weekend next year. Don’t take our word for it…
