No Fuss announce bargaintastic ten quid  ten hour racing

No Fuss Events have been organising sporting events for the masses for ages!  It all began 9 years ago, famously over a pint or 2 at the Fort William DH World Cup. Whilst enjoying the excitement of the World Cup, partners in crime Frazer, Spook and Martin decided that everyone should be able to experience the buzz and hype of racing, not just the Pros.  And with that, Ten Under the Ben was born.  Ten Under is exactly what it says on the tin – a ten hour mountain bike endurance race, held in the shadows of (nearby) Ben Nevis.

In its first year Ten Under attracted 450 riders, mostly on fully rigid mountain bikes with ‘v’ brakes, who raced on the Cross Country World Champs route used in 2004.  Participants camped on the floor of the auction mart and everyone paid by cheque!  Since then, bikes have changed massively, more people ‘camp’ in fancy vans and the No Fuss online entry system has been greatly improved.  Thank heavens.  What remains though is a great course that has been updated over the years and the fun, friendly attitude of No Fuss Events.

And, now that the dust has nearly settled from this season – we still have one more race to go, The Dudes of Hazzard Enduro – we are ready to start planning next year’s Tenth Anniversary Bash.  Once again we will be making the event a weekend affair, so get the dates in your diary now – 20th, 21st and 22nd June 2014.

Frazer from No Fuss Events had this to say, ‘We are so pleased to have been able to keep going for this long in the events game, and know that it would not be possible without the No Fussers who keep coming back and supporting our events.  Ten Under is our flagship event and in it’s Tenth year we would be over the moon if we could get as many people here as possible – the most we ever had was 1100 in 2010!  Ten Under the Ben 2014 is going to be both a celebration for us and a Thank You to everyone who has supported us over the years. So, to show our appreciation we will be setting the entry fee at just £10 pounds person!  How about that?’

So where will you be on the 21st June?  At our birthday party hopefully!
