This week, we introduce Crosstrax
Manager, Matthew Peacock picks up the story; ‘Crosstrax was founded back around the turn of the century (2000AD) and being based in north Leeds, we’re perfectly positioned for riding out the back door and beyond. We offer customers a very friendly, rider-staffed retail and workshop experience, stocking a range brands that include everything up to top-end MTBs from Lapierre, Kona, Transition, Yeti and Scott. We also cater for those who prefer tarmac and for cyclocross riders, with strong team riders in all disciplines.’
We have a fully equipped workshop, staffed by the likes of John Hobson (who is not only a pro-tour mechanic with Hope Tech but a top Endurance rider of National and Euro fame).
Our services range from the simple service and professional bike fit sessions, to the bespoke end of dream custom builds. You name it, we can do it all in the name of getting you out on the right bike or in the right kit for you.
Tell us about your custom services and what about demo bikes?
In support of building shiny bikes from our range of Lapierre, Kona, Transition, Yeti and Scott brands, we stock Mavic, Hope, Renthal, Shimano, Easton, Continental, Bos, Rockshox to name but a few. Rest assured, if we don’t have it we can get it! Coffee is always brewing and we’ll quite happily spend as long as it takes to work with you to spec your dream bike.
With regards to demo bikes, we have an up to date demo fleet and access to bikes from Transition, Kona and Lapierre if you need to try something we don’t have – just ask!
What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?
With both Jon and myself in the shop racing and riding 29ers for over 10 years, it’s only natural that we are fans of the bigger (correct!) sized wheels. Without getting into the pro’s and con’s here, we stock bikes from Kona, Lapierre, Transition and Scott in 29er flavours. We always have a good stock of wheels, tyres and tubes to keep you on your bike too.
Which product/brand does every staff member have on their bike?
Drivetrain by Shimano is a no-brainer but we do love the finishing kit options offered by Hope Tech and for the more adventurous boingy bits, we’re authorised BOS Suspension dealers.
Tell us something about your shop/staff that no one knows…
Not content with resting on our laurels, we’re busy planning a new website for later in the year and we continue to support the grass roots of the sport we love. Coming up in July we’ve got our Harewood Crits race in a wonderful Yorkshire setting, just north of Leeds.
We also ride regularly out of the shop when time allows and offer fully loaded Demo Days for when the weather plays ball. We’re not only social types in person but on the interwebs too, so our Facebook and Twitter profiles are well worth a looky if that’s your thing and for up to date info.
