Tuesday Treats 17: The Ride Stuff

Is the weather turning against you too, as it has here on the Yorks/Lancs boarder? Don’t fret. We have the perfect antidote to serve up in the form of Tuesday Treats, which this week comes from lovely Littleborough in the South Pennines.

This week’s stars, The Ride Stuff are offering one very lucky reader the chance to control every last inch of their seatpost, with a RockShox Reverb dropper post worth £300! Let’s get to it.

This week, we introduce The Ride Stuff.  Which is, in its own words…

Wall art, a beautiful shop dog and in-store north shore - what more do you need?

The Ride Stuff is owned and run by Paul and Naomi, we opened our doors in August 2011 with a view to being a Bike Shop with knowledge and personality. We are located on the foothills of the Pennines in Littleborough, which is perfect for any type of riding especially hills. Our shop is situated in a valley so the only way out is up! Our customers love our seating area with coffee and cake (cake available when Naomi is in) and we like the fact that our shop feels like part of the community and is gradually starting to attract customers from further afield, through our great service and word of mouth.

Staff wise, it is just us but we have a very loyal friend (Craig- also known as ‘the bald one’) who helps out whenever he can. We also have Luna the shop dog, that customers adore.

What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?

RockShox Reverbs certainly seem to be the weapon of choice at the moment and most of our customers seem to be buying them as an early Christmas present for themselves! Coming up close are 29ers.

Which product/brand does every staff member have on their bike?

Paul sold my bike [says Naomi, who is pregnant] – now I have to borrow my friend’s until my belly doesn’t touch my knees and we’ve had our Demo Day so I can try out a few tasty brands. Paul loves his DMR Vault pedals.

What was the last custom build you did?

Shiny and new!

Not quite a custom build but a custom bling build, a Whyte 905 with Hope Tech Evo X2 brakes, Hope stem, Renthal bars and a Reverb seatpost.

Tell us something about your staff that no one knows…

Paul, Naomi and some fine Lancashire stonework.

When the going gets tough (and not many people realise this), there is a pub tucked away downstairs from the shop. Naomi makes jewellery and tiaras (she also likes to bling up bells).

Is there a regular shop ride or forthcoming event you think our readers should know about?

We will be organising monthly rides in the New Year and have a Demo Day coming up in the Spring, dates to be confirmed. Our Facebook and Twitter accounts are regularly updated, so please feel free to stay in touch. Like many busy workshops, we continue to battle with our website to wrestle it into submission so bear with us. We’re much more focused on giving our customers first class service in the flesh than online anyway!

What do Singletrack Premier Subscribers get from The Ride Stuff?

A full 10% off parts and accessories and a whopping 25% off servicing.
