Some people say that singlespeeding is dead – and that it was the idiots that killed it. We couldn’t agree more – and we’re happy to announce that The Cheeky Trails Collective, the UK’s leading lower-functioning bike drunks, will be driving the final nail in the coffin this year by hosting SSUK 2012, the UK’s best (and only) singlespeed mountain bike championship. Here’s the lowdown from their mouthpiece:
“The event of the year will be held somewhere and sometime in a dank forest in the frozen North. Like all good lovers we’re not prepared to rush things so Valentines Day is the day to prepare for more news if you love a bit of solo-speed action; just like a first date there will be no entry available then but be ready to win us over with a bit of foreplay…
Fatbikes are more than welcome and will have their own very, very special Spacehopper category. Bring on the Clown Parade!
Expect all the best that singlespeeding has offered but never delivered – and some riding of bikes too…”
More details will be on the website at http://www.ssuk2012.co.uk/ – when they come together.
