Entries Now Open For Hit The North 2

The Hit The North Team write…

Hit the North is back on July 17th.

Entries are now open and places will be limited.

All three previous events have sold out in a matter of days, so you need to get yourselves and your team mates organised and get your entry in!

The entry fee will be £33.33 per person and it is up to you whether you register as a solo, pair or team of 3.

For that you get…

  • An 8 hour lap based event on a completely new 6-ish mile course on mixed terrain including some bits that would perhaps be better ridden on a mountain bike and some bits that will probably be faster on a cyclocross bike… Oh, and there will be some carrying sections.
  • Free camping on Saturday 17th. Additional camping is available on Friday 16th July for a fee of £3 per person payable directly to the campsite on arrival.
  • The usual awesome catering.
  • Trade stands.
  • A beer tent with live band and DJ for the after event party.
  • Electronic timing with a free access site wide wireless network so you can keep tabs on your performance in real time via a phone, pda or laptop.
  • Toilets and showers (that work).
  • The usual relaxed atmosphere that HtN seems to create.

So why not sign up?.. It won’t kill you.

All proceeds will as usual be donated to local charities and we are being supported by the amazing generosity of JMC IT, Cloversoul Jewellery, Pro-Lite and Ragley Bikes.

It’s the event of the year, folks!

It seems wrong to drive south for several hours for an event called hit the North!

It’s not about geography. The event is named after “Hit the North” by local noise makers The Fall.

so does that mean you’re going to enter or not jonb?

Bum, signed up for the last one but had to miss out as family holidays got in the way and, hey, guess what….I’m on holiday again.
Next time please dont do it in the school holidays!

“Price to be confirmed, but it won’t break the bank”
dont want to seem tight but 33.33 each, compare to similar events quite steep in comparison to enduro6,national marathon champs etc
    Hitn1.5 great event though!

The price is dictated by the cost to stage it.

We’ve reduced the size of the entry because the campsite was too full at HtN, but have kept the cost per rider the same give or take a quid or so.

The duration of the event has dropped from 12 to 10 hours for a couple of reasons.

    1) Marshal cover. 12 hours means an extra shift of marshals.

    2) After race entertainment. By finishing the race at 7:00pm it means that everyone can get into the beer/band tent at a reasonable time.

    3) By starting later people don’t need to camp over on Friday night which has saved another which save another £900.

I think £33.33 isn’t bad when you consider what we’ve got lined up, any less and we couldn’t afford to stage it. If we were trying to make money from this the fee would have to be an awful lot higher!

Arse. Typo in my last comment.

The duration of the event is 8 hours.
