A weekend of riding, camping, racing and demoing at a spectacular location just two minutes from the M4.

This year the weekend will feature British XC series racing on Saturday, the tough Margam Marathon on a 25km course on Sunday and 2 days of free demos from 8 of Britain’s best brands.

If that’s not enough then there is live music Saturday night, showers, hard standing parking, camping, flushing loos, a programme of led rides, team relay action and the varied attractions of Margam Park on offer. This weekend is always popular with families, with kids races and loads to do on site for the whole family including free access to the park with it’s farm trail, beautiful grounds, children’s adventure playground, orangery restaurant, impressive deer herd, on site train and a Go Ape course all within walking distance of the campsite. The camping is also within 15 minutes drive of Afan and Glyncorrwg so a chance to head off and sample the local trail centre delights too.

This year an added feature is two days of free test rides from Giant, Specialized, Trek, Santa Cruz, Genesis, Yeti, Gary Fisher and Merida and free Accelerade samples and a chance to try out the new range of Osprey Hydraulics… for details of demos go to www.britishxc.com

The Marathon event regularly sells out so book your spot and enjoy a unique weekend of riding, racing and chilling.

I have been a writer for nigh on 20 years, a photographer for 25 years and a mountain biker for 30 years. I have written countless magazine and website features and route guides for the UK mountain bike press, most notably for the esteemed and highly regarded Singletrackworld. Although I am a Lancastrian, I freely admit that West Yorkshire is my favourite place to ride. Rarely a week goes by without me riding and exploring the South Pennines.
